My maternal Grandmother was a Castaldo and many of her sisters emigrated from Gallo to both Kokomo,Indiana and Argentina. My dad's grandfather, Pasquale Rocchio emigrated to Wharton, West Virginia and worked there for many years. His wife, Rosa DiLullo, continued to live in Gallo, while he was away...Just a little bit of information about myself and my family history. There are many people from Gallo living in Oshawa, Whitby, Sudbury and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Many have the last names of DiPietroantonio, Perrino, Piraglia, Paolo, Castaldo,Iannitti,Palumbo, Rocchio and Pelosi. Hopefully this may give some of you information about your family history. My sister Mary and I went to see Gallo last year and it was one of the most incredible trips we have ever taken. We were the grateful guests of our father Anthony's cousin, Dominick DiPietrantonio and his beautiful wife Catherine, who were married there many years ago. We enjoyed the hospitality of the entire town during our stay. My grandparents came to West Virginia and then raised a family in the Bronx - 4 children, Anthony (my father), Rose, Mary, and Dominick. My Grandfather was Giovanni Orecchio (b. 1887?) and my Grandmother was Maria Rosa Perrino (b. 1891?). Both were from Gallo, Caserta. They had 8 children that I know of. They are Mary Rocchio, Angie Paolo, Roseanne Relotto, Minnie Eafrati, Connie (Antonia?) Bennett, Joseph Orecchio, Anthony Orecchio and John Orecchio. The women are listed with married names. They settled in Weirton, WV, a steel town just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. My father, Anthony Orecchio, tells me other names related to our family are Pirraglia, Chiodi and DiPietrantonio. I have seen some research by Mario Perrino on the internet, and would be interested in communicating with him. Perhaps he's a cousin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Date:
